..:: Introduction ::..

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a few i875P motherboards come and go, all offering several unique features of their own. However, it wasn’t too long ago that i865PE motherboards began to hit the market with PAT, a hardware based feature that was supposed to be permanently disabled on the i865PE chipsets. Nearly all of the major manufacturers have developed i865PE solutions that feature their own form of memory performance enhancements, more commonly known as PAT. With recent rumors flying that Intel may be working on a new revision of the i865PE chipset that does indeed permanently disable the manufacturer’s capability to enable the PAT technology, now could be the time to upgrade. Today, we’ll be taking a look at one such i865PE motherboard offering performance enhancements, the Abit IS7-G and Abit’s Game Accelerator Technology.
