It was only a few weeks ago that we had the pleasure of taking a look at the first FIC motherboard to enter the MBR testing labs, and today we have yet another review for you from the likes of FIC. This time, we will be taking a look at their latest AMD offering, the KT-748, which consists of the relatively unknown SiS748 chipset. SiS has rarely been a real fan favorite when it comes to overall performance, but their chipsets do offer comparable performance and usually offer a better price point for the budget conscious buyers. With the new SiS748 chipset appears a new technology, something SiS calls “Hyper-Streaming.” I will be covering this new technology in far more detail in our upcoming SiS655FX review, but for now to keep things simple, this technology work to lower latencies throughout the system in order to improve performance to the levels of today’s more well-known dual channel chipsets. Today we’ll be taking a look at whether or not the KT-748’s Hyper-Streaming can keep up with the KT600’s FastStream64 on the Abit KV7.
