Gigabyte EP35-DS4

Gigabyte EP35-DS4 @ OC Club

“In my mind, the Gigabyte EP35-DS4 is an average motherboard. Overall, it kept up with most of the motherboards, but rarely beat out all the competition. This motherboard did about the same as the Foxconn Mars, which also has a P35 chipset. This EP35-DS4 did nothing to distinguish itself from the competition, so I can’t recommend it over any of them.”

ASUS Striker II Formula

ASUS Striker II Formula @ RBMods

“DDR2 ram doesn’t cost anything these days so if you are going for a upgrade maybe you should look at this Striker 2 formula that we are going to review today and get a good setup of DDR2. Yes todays review will consist of a review on the Striker 2 board that has gotten quite good results in earlier tests.”

ASUS P5E3 Premium

ASUS P5E3 Premium @ TweakTown

“Intel originally planned for the X38 chipset to be the big kahuna for the Core 2 platform, but unfortunately its extremely poor overclocking, heat generation and lack of support for the 1600MHz FSB made Intel go back and bring up a new chipset. X48 however is not actually a new chipset, rather a hand picked X38 silicon that works at higher FSB clock speeds along with a lower voltage draw than that of the X38. But this also means it carries a premium with it, thus Intel decided to give it X48 naming.”

ASUS Rampage Formula

ASUS Rampage Formula @ TBreak

“Asus did not wait long to introduce its first motherboard based on the Intel X48 chipset. Asus Formula Rampage board is part of the Republic of Gamers series and it is obviously aimed at gamers and enthusiasts alike, but is this truly the best motherboard for the Intel s processors on the market?”

ASUS Maximus Formula

ASUS Maximus Formula @ Motherboards.org

“The Maximus Formula was also used in a upcoming E8500 review and the board overclocked that CPU to over 4.4GHz on air, meaning that there’s a lot of headroom on this board for overclocker’s. ASUS motherboards have generally been used for all of our video card test platforms and this board is actually one of the best of the breed motherboards I’ve seen on the X38 platform with all of the extra features like the LCD Monitor and the inclusion of STALKER making this a first-class motherboard for any taste.”

Intel QX9770

Intel QX9770 @ TweakNews

“The QX9770 being reviewed today is Intel’s latest Socket 775 Quad-Core which not only boasts the smaller 45nm manufacturing process as the QX9650, but it also ups the stock core speed by 200Mhz to 3.2Ghz, cranks up the FSB from 1333Mhz to a screaming 1600Mhz, and for good measure slaps on another 4MB of on die cache to keep all cores fed properly.”

ECS GF7100PVT-M

ECS GF7100PVT-M @ Big Bruin

“The ECS GF7100PVT-M GeForce 7100 mATX motherboard provides the necessary features to handle the basic demands of an HTPC in a package that won’t break the bank. While it does lack in some areas, it does include integrated video capable of VGA, DVI, or HDMI output, HD audio, and four SATA headers capable of a variety of RAID configurations.”

AMD Phenom X3 8750

AMD Phenom X3 8750 @ ViperLair

“Even though the AMD Unified Video Decoder can offload CPU usage in HD playback by putting the work on the graphics processing unit, if you’re running multiple tasks during HD playback, the system does struggle if it doesn’t have the horse power.”

AMD Phenom X3 8750 @ Bjorn3D

“‘Thinking that having more cores would better? That is exactly what AMD is thinking. Today, AMD is once again being the first one on the market releasing the triple-core processor with their Phenom X3 8750. Does this processor can deliver a better performance than the dual-core processors, how does it compares to the quad core processors?”

AMD Phenom X3 8750 @ Motherboards.org

“From a strict performance point of view the AMD Phenom X3 8750 CPU is not going to win any awards in most cases. From a platform point of view, AMD is announcing their new “Cartwheel” platform centered on Phenom CPUs and the 780G graphics platform which has the great HD3200 class graphics.”

AMD Phenom X3 8750 @ Guru3D

“So then, recently AMD released their Phenom X4 50-series processors, with an all new fixed B3 core, with which they can now leave the past behind them and move forward with processors that can actually start competing with the competition. Today we’ll look at a B3 based Phenom X3 xx50-series processor, the Phenom X3 8750.”

AMD Phenom X3 8750 @ PC Per

“The X3 line can add some performance to a sub-$200 processor purchase while at the same time saving AMD from losing revenue on lost parts by salvaging some quad-core failures at the fab; and we all know they need that. If you are on the hunt for a low-cost computer then you should evaluate your own usage habits and decide how you value 200 MHz in clock speed compared to an extra core of processing and make the leap from there.”

ECS 780GM-A

ECS 780GM-A @ TBreak

“Naturally, AMD has decided to build on good sales of a 680G chipsets and release a new one, called 780G. New chipset was main topic for AMD during CeBIT and all AMD major partners had their boards ready. One of them was ECS, AMDs long-time partner, best known for their low-cost boards and OEM business. With great layout, solid all-round performance and support for Hybrid technology, is ECS 780GM-A board you were waiting for?”

Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L

Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L @ Tech Lounge

“Gigabyte is a solid company. They’re at the top of my list, it would seem, so picking a current-generation entry-level motherboard without integrated graphics narrows things down to about half a dozen options, with the GA-P31-DS3L at the front. But is that really enough to base a decision on? Well, if you’re reading this, then Jesus, of course not.”
