GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS Gaming 7

In this review, we’ll be looking at the AORUS Z370 Gaming 7 from Gigabyte. They did an excellent job with the Z270 line-up of AORUS boards, and with Z370, I’m personally expecting more of the same. But if you’re currently running a 7700k on a Z270 motherboard, is upgrading to Z370 something you really want to consider?

Under-board features nearly end at that point, as the only other two things of interest are the M.2 connector and the Gigabit Ethernet PHY. Various power regulation components are also scattered about, but we were a little surprised to see that the board only supports a single PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 drive. Legacy SATA M.2 drives are excluded, according to MSI.

EVGA responds to these sentiments with an overclocking board that’s all business, if your business is gaming and/or overclocking. The firm even ditched the second network controller traditionally found on high-end boards, giving its Z370 FTW a solidly enthusiast mainstream feature set, apart from the big voltage regulator.

ASUS ROG ZENITH EXTREME

In our two reviews about AMD Ryzen thread Ripper us has the ASUS ROG accompanied Zenith Extreme and thereby served well. The ASUS motherboard , however, stepped back into the second row, as it was primarily about the new processors. Time to take a closer look at the motherboard. Because such a motherboard does not get lost in our editorial office every day.

ASRock X299 Taichi

Today we tested and overclocked the ASRock X299 Taichi motherboard. After the AMD Ryzen Threadripper ASRock X399 Taichi motherboard we now have the pleasure to test an Intel Core i9-7900X Skylake-X CPU on the ASRock X299 Taichi motherboard. As previously reported in the Intel OC Community, we were able to overclock the Core i9-7900X from 3.3 GHz to almost 5.2 GHz and this is an awesome result in this high-end range. Also great is the basic configuration of the ASRock motherboard, which we have already shown in the Unboxing Video.
