Definitely one of my favorite motherboard manufacturers, ASRock continues to raise the bar when it comes to features and performance at any given price point. This trend continues today with their latest AM4 offering in the X370 Taichi motherboard which pushes the envelope of price/performance ratio and awesome factor.

Thankfully a few of the manufacturers like MSI have Pro focused lines. This is especially important with X299, a platform that overall seems better focused on workstation builds. Well MSI just happened to send over the X299 SLI Plus from their Pro lineup and today I’m going to check it out and see what it has going on.

ASRock’s X399 Taichi takes full advantage of the new X399 chipset and includes many of ASRock’s unique features. The motherboard is just as loaded with features as any HEDT platform from the competition and offers the same level of modern connectivity. Coming in at around £190, it is priced significantly lower than the Crosshair VI Hero, and does away with various features that are more geared towards enthusiasts and pro-overclockers, giving gamers a more specialised motherboard catering more for their needs.

As our first motherboard reviewed for the Intel Xeon Scalable Processor generation, the Supermicro X11SPH-nCTF certainly feels like a next-generation platform. Style has always been an important factor for gaming motherboards, and these days that means LED highlights and eye-catching coverings, namely heatsinks and shields, over key onboard components. The X299 Aorus Gaming 9 has plenty of these accoutrements, but it also has the meat-and-potatoes features that make for a powerful gaming board.
