We have an ATX motherboard. Its dimensions do not differ from the classic ones and are 305 x 244 mm. The external design is simple and is not remembered by anything, except for the cutout on the right edge. The board itself is dark brown, there are almost no prints, the heatsinks are black and almost without any inscriptions. Only the chipset heatsink says Tomahawk.

And the truth is that it makes sense, because it is even cheaper than a high-end Z690, with a 70A 16+1+1 phase VRM that allows you to overclock a 12900K without problems. Given the results of the CARBON EK X, it will be the best opportunity to get the most out of the Alder Lake K series. We also have support for DDR5, 4 M.2 slots, 3 PCIe and USB Gen2x2 . In terms of appearance, the B660 AORUS MASTER DDR4 looks like a typical representative of its family, with black and gray colors, large heat sinks for the power section and M.2 drives, as well as the characteristic AORUS logo on the chipset cooler. On this occasion we analyze the Asus TUF Gaming B660M-Plus D4 board , a feasible mid-range option for those who plan to upgrade their PC to the new Alder Lake CPUs , while maintaining DDR4 memories at a good price. Its 10+1 phase VRM will suffice for a 12900K, and it has dual M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots for high-end SSDs. We will not have Wi-Fi in this variant, although we will have dedicated video ports, 2.5G LAN and USB Gen2x2.

In terms of appearance, the B660M Pro RS differs from other cheap B660 boards mainly in that it has a fully cooled power section, where other companies decided that such extravagance should be available only in the price segment from about PLN 700. The color tested model focuses on a combination of black and shades of gray, and in my opinion it is a construction pleasing to the eye. In keeping with the current trends, ASRock has not forgotten the multi-colored RGB LED backlight, which however is not extensive, covering only the lower part of the right edge of the PCB.
