ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z690 FORMULA – GreenTech_Reviews

ASUS ROG Maximus Formula motherboards are designed for gamers and enthusiasts who want maximum system stability in any usage scenario, including fully loaded overclocked Core i9 processors. The key difference between Formula boards is a pre-installed water block on the power subsystem, which can also serve as a conventional heatsink – in fact, this is a combined solution. The novelty, based on the Intel Z690 chipset, received noticeable design changes compared to its predecessor based on the Z490 (Z590 was skipped by the manufacturer).

BIOSTAR Racing Z690GTA – [M]adShrimps

The Racing Z690GTA mainstream motherboard for Intel’s Alder Lake generation does feature a catchy color scheme and is very well equipped in terms of interfaces. The BIOS is easy to configure/understand and has support for high-speed RAM as well (32GB kits should work fine till 4200MHz at least, while with 16GB you might get lucky and run at 4600MHz as well). The top VRM heatsink is complimented with two small fans in order to keep temps in check which can get loud at times, but their fan curve can be customized as well via UEFI or the Windows application.

GIGABYTE Z690 UD DDR4 – Geeknetic

Almost everything on a modern motherboard is defined by the chipset, and certainly to a large extent by the processor itself. Part of the connectivity, depending on the processor, depends on it, so the chipset, although still very important, is relegated to secondary functions that Intel, as in this case, uses to differentiate certain ranges of its products.

MSI MPG Z690 FORCE WIFI – Overclockers Russia

There are four black slots for DDR5 memory modules. There are latches on both sides. To activate dual-channel mode, you need to install two brackets through the slot from each other. Intel Core 12 Gen processors use a dual memory controller. The emphasis is on DDR5 because this is one of the main innovations of the new platform and it needs to be promoted.

ASRock Z690 PG Velocita – El Chapuzas Informatico

In the lower half of the motherboard, we find 3 PCIe x16 slots , each one of a generation. And it is that although the first is a PCIe 5.0 x16 with direct connection to the processor, the second is a PCIe 4.0 x16 with 4 lines and the third a PCIe 3.0 x16 also with 4 lines, as well as 2 PCIe 4.0 x1 slots . Another aspect to note is that the chipset has a small fan to improve its cooling, and you can also see the always interesting Debug LED screen in the lower right corner.

ASRock Z690 Taichi – Guru3D

This product is from a series that already appeared using the Z590 chipset, which we’ve reviewed not long ago. When looking at the overall specs, the ASRock Z690 Taichi isn’t much different from the predecessor, which would explain such a price difference. We can see the (not wanted) progress (?) in the prices as the new one is even more expensive, as the MSRP is 589.99 USD (that’s 130 USD more than Z590). For 629 USD, you can find the MSI Z690 Unify, and for about 600 USD, there’s an Asus Maximus Z690 Hero available. There are, of course, cheaper ASRock Z690 models like PG Velocita, Steel Legend (DDR4), so you should find your match.

ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-I GAMING WIFI – TweakTown

The onboard power design is space-saving with its 10+1 design, but ROG has deployed 105A stages to make up for any losses, and its 1050A capacity should make for solid OC ability. Connectivity doesn’t suffer much, if at all. The Z690-I includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, 2.5Gbe and WiFi6e, along with USB 3.2 Gen1, 2 and 2×2 available via internal header. Audio is the ALC4080 with a Savitech AMP making for impressive sound without the need of an external DAC.
