NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founder’s Edition

Tastes vary, but I have to say, the new industrial design from NVIDIA for the RTX 3080 Founders Edition is as good as any consumer computer product I’ve ever seen. It’s a solid, futuristic design that weighs in at a solid 3.0 lbs. You may not agree, but I think an in-person demo might convince you.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080: Ampere Is A Gaming Monster

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang officially unveiled the GeForce RTX 30 series based on the company’s Ampere architecture a couple of weeks back, to much fanfare. According to Jensen, who owns more spatulas than any human realistically should, the GeForce RTX 30 series represents the greatest generational leap in the company’s history.

Meet the Gigabyte B550 Vision D motherboard. This product from the Vision series (which includes also a Z490 motherboard) is an AMD AM4 socket product targeted at creators. Built-in the ATX form-factor, the design resembles GB’s Designaire models. Make no mistake, this is a high-end prduct.

ASRock B550 Taichi

Well today we are taking a look at one such B550 motherboard that might not exactly fit that criteria as it comes in at $299.  It is ASRock’s B550 Taichi, which sits as a premium offering in the B550 space with a 16-phase digital VRM, 2.5G LAN, WiFi 6, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and possibly one of the best board designs we’ve seen from ASRock.  Does it live up to its premium price? HP has released a new M.2. SSD in the value series, the new EX900 Pro is an SSD in that 2 GB/sec range, the rather properly volume sized 1024 GB (1TB) model which we review certainly is a capable one with no TLC write holes to detect.

ADATA Falcon 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD

Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4-3600 64GB

We’ve said it time and time again that it is hard to find a solid DDR4 memory kit that does not have RGB lighting. Well Patriot wants to change that with their new Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 memory. This modules feature an all black design (hence the Blackout name), which will more or less match any build out there. The kit we are taking a look at today is the PVB464G360C8K which is a 64GB (2x16GB) kit running at 3600 MHz with timings of 18-20-20-40 at 1.35V.
