It’s clear from the charts that the Exceria M.2 NVMe 1TB SSD by KIOXIA performs significantly better than advertised (largely thanks to its Pseudo SLC cache) and by that, I mean up to roughly 3100MB/s in read and 1700MB/s in write (according always to ATTO – with AIDA64 not far behind). Yes, this performance may not last as long as it would with other higher-end models (as evident in our SNIA charts) but still these are very good numbers, for an entry-level M.2 NVMe drive that is (I’ll do my best to also get the Plus version here for a comparison).

The RGB-free MSI B550I Gaming Edge Wi-Fi is a viable option for those looking for a tiny B550-based motherboard. But there are alternatives with similar features, better power delivery and RGB lighting available for around the same price.

Today we are going to evaluate a pair of ASUS GPUs, the TUF Gaming X3 Radeon RX 5700 EVO and RX 5700 XT EVO. The headlining feature intended to separate these cards from other designs is a much beefier cooler. ASUS says these cards have a 44% larger cooler surface area than before, a claim that should show itself in higher clocks, lower GPU temperatures, or both.

The Proton is the latest affordable line of PSU’s by Chieftec (emphasis on the affordable) and so at least when it comes to rail stability things are very good. Not as good as the PowerPlay series but close and that’s very good for a model that should cost significantly less. Build quality is at surprisingly good levels and although the Taiwanese TEAPO is not as popular as some of its Japanese competitors I never had an issue with their capacitors (nor did i have with a High Power manufactured unit).

In the past half-year or so you’ll have seen a few PCIe Gen 4.0 related announcements. Of course, the dazzling numbers from SSDs at that speed do impress. Teamgroup released the Cardea Ceramic C440 at roughly 20 Cents per GB, and you can purchase it in a 1TB and 2TB model, the C440 units will be available at 199 USD for the 1TB version.

ASRock’s “Extreme” line of motherboards have always been solid and quite affordable as well. They give users everything that they would want in their respective chipset, but lack some of the higher-end features you might see in a Taichi or Phantom Gaming board. Today we are taking a look at ASRock’s Z490 Extreme4 which features an 11 phase Dr.MOS power design, dual Ultra M.2 slots, support for 4266 MHz memory, 2.5G LAN, USB 3.2 gen 2, and some pretty awesome RGB lighting.

Thus the ASRock H470 Steel Legend mainboard is not a reasonable choice for overclockers due to the Intel H470 chipset, but it has a powerful VRM power supply to get the maximum performance out of a 10th Gen CPU without unlocked multiplier with the tricky BFB feature. In addition, the stylish ASRock H470 Steel Legend motherboard has an extensive basic equipment and scores clearly with numerous USB ports up to the fast USB 3.2 Gen2 as well as a performant 2.5 Gigabit LAN port.
The TUF Gaming B550M-Plus (Wi-Fi) comes in a MicroATX form factor (as indicated by the M after the chipset ID). After almost exclusively reviewing ATX and Extended ATX motherboards for the last year, this thing feels extraordinarily small mounted inside my midtower test chassis.
