ASRock B550 Taichi

It’s a member of ASRock’s premium Taichi range, and therefore built like the proverbial ceramic outbuilding catering specifically for bowel movements. That includes large slabs of metal topside for everything from the M.2 heat spreaders to the VRM cooling. Several of those components are held down by hex screws, for which ASRock provides a handy driver. And that only adds to the sense of a board built to sustain a bomb blast.

ASRock B460 Steel Legend

Today we test on OCinside.de with the ASRock B460 Steel Legend a brand new motherboard for current Intel LGA1200 processors. The ASRock B460 Steel Legend offers a solid basic equipment including 2.5 Gigabit LAN and some features like the addressable RGB lighting at the chipset cooler and even under the motherboard. However, the inexpensive Intel B460 chipset also has disadvantages in overclocking.

ASRock Z490 AQUA

For $1105.99 (yes, you read that right), the Aqua’s claim to fame is the integrated water block designed to cool the CPU and VRMs. The only other Z490 motherboard like this is the Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Extreme Waterforce ($1299.99).

MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK

The MSI MAG B550 as a normal ATX board with currently 160 Euro is not a real cheap one and I will therefore put the focus of the review on the teardown, the voltage converters including cooling, the audio chip including output power at different impedances and the M.2 performance. I’d rather leave the unpacking and touching to the unboxers.
