Intel’s Core i9-10900K still doesn’t match AMD’s halo 16-core 32-thread Ryzen 9 3950X in terms of threaded performance. Instead, the 10900K competes with the 12-core 24-thread Ryzen 9 3900X in terms of both performance and price, but Intel’s chip has the highest power consumption we’ve seen recently on the mainstream desktop. Intel pushes the 10900K’s TDP envelope up to 125W (a 30W gen-on-gen increase), but that’s only a measure of base power consumption.

“MSI Tomahawk” has got to be one of the pieces of literature every pc builder has come across sometime in their life and this is not without any reason. The Tomahawk falls between the boundary of cheap and and well suited for a build in the mid-end spectrum.

The Aorus Z490 Master is the 2nd to the top in Aorus’ lineup for the 10th generation of processors of Intel. It’s always been a huge gap between the Xtreme top of the line board but we think that this time around, the Master is worth looking at for a chop off the price from the Xtreme.

Most of the boards that were sent over are higher end, but MSI sent over their MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon WiFI which isn’t a budget board but is a little easier on the wallet. Its name may be a little long, but at just under $270 is it a good sweet spot for a Z490 build? Today I’m going to find out!

The Aorus Z490i Ultra is under Aorus’ lineup of board which carries the most variations – from specially themed boards to bringing the ITX offering of Aorus. There’s just something that Aorus does that makes their ITX boards shine even from other generations and platforms.
