When it comes to mini-ITX AMD X570 motherboards there are only a handful to choose from. Today we are checking out ASRock’s offering which comes in the form of the X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB3. We first saw the Phantom Gaming Series from ASRock with their Z390 Phantom Gaming X and we are hoping to see the same quality in the X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB3.

ASUS ROG ZENITH II EXTREME ALPHA

MSI MEG X570 UNIFY

Today, we are taking a look at the MSI MEG X570 Unify. This is a mid-range, low frills X570 motherboard targeted towards the enthusiast market. Specifically, it offers a blacked-out aesthetic and absolutely no RGB LED lighting.

MSI Creator TRX40

At the bottom of the board is four full-length PCIe 4.0 slots which run at x16/x8/x16/x8, with two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots complimented with a long M.2 heatshield which sits between the bottom two PCIe 4.0 slots. A third M.2 slot is located vertically along the right-hand side of the board just above the actively cooled chipset heatsink.

A motherboard with a name like “Godlike”—and it’s not MSI’s first bite at the apple with that family name—sets some serious expectations. Though we’re not here to debunk the dominance of this deluxe motherboard, we have to observe: Its price is as equally high in the heavens as its name.

MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS

Regardless of how we define cheapness, this board still gets you a voltage regulator with eight 46A MOSFETs for the CPU core on a board that undercuts the other “value-priced models” we’ve tested by a wide margin. That voltage regulator should be adequate to run the full range of Ryzen 3000 processors at stock settings. Since our test CPU is a middle model, we’ll push it a bit with overclocking.
