Intel’s powerful Core i9 family recently displaced Core i7 as the company’s mainstream desktop flagship. Mainstream is relative, though. The Intel Core i9-9900K sells for more than $500, requires a high-end cooler, a beefy motherboard, and really needs to be paired with lots of fast memory. It’s prohibitively expensive for all but the most affluent enthusiasts.

So, what’s different about the UNIFY? Well, despite the very similar feature-set and appearance to the MSI MEG X570 ACE, the UNIFY has been stripped of all RGB LEDs, being squarely aimed at those who have grown tired of the craze that’s swept across the components market, it also lands at a more budget-friendly price, which you’d expect.

Gigabyte’s Aorus boards are the company’s gaming and enthusiast lineup, usually including features such as RGB LEDs, metal “armor” on the DIMM and/or PCIe slots, electrostatic discharge (ESD) guards, along with more of a focus on styling. The Aorus Ultra fits that mold, while offering a wide array of functionality at a reasonable price point.

Designed for multiplatform servers, the single consumer function we can apply to the X11SRi-IF is as a secondary number-crunching board in dual-platform prosumer PCs. Excellent performance aligns it well to that niche within a niche, but US buyers will probably have to wait for a server component seller to carry it before finding a single-unit listing.

Apart from the lack of RGB around the monoblock’s main window and outlet port, most of the this board’s cons don’t suually apply to the X570 Aqua’s target market. Once ASRock rolls out an update to its RGB software, Aqua will be a near-perfect product for those who don’t mind blowing $1000 on a motherboard.

The Asus TUF Gaming is one of the least-expensive boards available on the X570 platform,but manages to include a USB Type-C port as well as Wi-Fi, and RGB LED illumination near the chipset heatsink. Stock performance was comparable to the other models, and overclocking worked well on our review sample.

The sub-$200 X570 Aorus Elite offers a wallet-friendly inroad to AMD’s latest platform. It forgoes some of the extras like USB Type-C, Wi-Fi and lots of RGB. But it handled overclocking our Ryzen 7 3700X without a complaint and performed well in our testing.

What looks on paper to be a half-priced version of the X570 Aqua is really a completely different product. But the X570 Creator’s impressive feature set still makes it worth its price to those in the market for integrated Thunderbolt 3 and 10GbE.

Intel’s eight-core Core i9-9900K comes with everything to satisfy enthusiasts, like more cores, higher frequencies, and performance-boosting Solder TIM. Those improvements make the chip the fastest mainstream processor on the market, but the $500 asking price relegates it to the most extreme performance enthusiasts.
