In Gigabyte’s AORUS line of Z390 motherboard there are actually eight total. Sitting right in the middle is the Z390 AORUS Ultra, which offers pretty every feature you would want in a Z390 motherboard, but also some nice extras. First you have that signature AORUS design with RGB lighting in multiple places on the board plus RGB headers.

This board is no joke, while the “Alpha” name may seem a bit extreme or silly, it really is the new alpha in my opinion for anyone looking at Threadripper. The new Zenith features a VRM so large it takes up the entirety of the top of the board going from basically end to end with VRM components.

The ROG Strix B450-F Gaming has a monochromatic look with it’s black PCB and gunmetal grey heatsinks on the VRM’s as well as on top of the chipset. This should blend in any PC build theme and I’m sure PC modders would love this neutral design.

Whatever one may believe about the order of the pack in as far as motherboard vendors are concerned. I think we can all agree that ASRock is somewhat underrated. The products for the most part offer the best bang for buck.

With the hugely powerful 18 core CPUs released from Intel even the Rampage VI Extreme could be made to be found wanting. The hardcore overclockers delidded them, produced a more exotic cooling solution than the thermal paste of Intel, and thus the demands skyrocketed beyond that which was expected by the designers.
