We continue with the analysis of Alder Lake plates, and today it is the turn of the Asus ProArt B660-CREATOR D4 , one of the few that we are missing from the long list of Asus. It is one of the most balanced models within this platform, as it combines the option of installing DDR4 RAM , with 3 PCIe slots , one of them 5.0, 3 M.2 slots . As well as a large section of peripheral connectivity with dual LAN 2.5 + 1 Gbps , Wi-Fi card slot and up to 9 rear USB with Gen2. To top it off we have a good 12+1 phase 50A VRM to support the most powerful CPUs on the platform.

GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS XTREME WATERFORCE – iXBT

Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce is the most that is the top representative of the Aorus series with the appropriate price. ASRock H670 PG Riptide – Hardwareluxx

ASUS TUF GAMING B660M-E D4 – Professional Review

We already have several TUF B660 boards reviewed, and this Asus TUF Gaming B660M-E D4 model will be the lowest ranked among them. However, it represents an opportunity for users with a tight budget to have a board with M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots in a compact format and with the option of adding a Wi-Fi card when there is a slot. It goes down a step in terms of performance compared to the B660M-PLUS, with less powerful VRM and connectivity cuts, but its price drops to around €150.

ASRock B660 Steel Legend – PC Gamer

That puts it in the mid-range of B660 pricing and, at that kind of price, it’s important not to expect too much. Though if you think about it, you can add an i5 and 32GB of DDR4-3200, with your choice of GPU, and it should easily be able to sit at the heart of an eminently affordable gaming system. GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS XTREME WATERFORCE – HardwareCooking

This card offers four slots for SSDs in M.2 format. All are plugged in PCIe 4.0, unfortunately, no PCIe 5.0 here since this standard will only be found on the two PCie x16 slots. In terms of connectivity , we can count on the presence of two Thunderbolt 4 ports. For the network part, we have a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port and a second 10 Gigabit via an Aquantia controller. We also have WiFi 6E 802.11ax. For the power stage , we have no less than 20+1+2 Renesas RAA22010540 105A phases with a Renesas RAA229131 controller configured in 20+0 (Direct mode). Obviously we have 8 PCB layers.

ASRock X570S PG Riptide – TweakTown

The X570S PG Riptide offers support for Ryzen 3000,4000 and 5000 series CPUs all on the AM4 socket. Memory support includes DDR4, 2133MHz to 5000MHz across four slots at a max capacity of 128GB. CPU power design is 10-phase 50A, Dr Mos; plenty for overclocking the likes of the 5600X and possibly 5800X as well.

For connectivity, we have one PCIe 4.0 slot shielded at the top, followed by two additional slots coming off the chipset at Gen4 as well. Storage connectivity includes six SATA III connections and two Hyper M.2 slots for Gen4 NVMe drives. Audio has had corners cut with the ALC897 being deployed on this motherboard. However, LAN has been upgraded to the Killer E3100G platform with 2.5Gbe capability.
