ASUS ROG ZENITH EXTREME ALPHA

As a refresh to their HEDT product lineup, the ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha became ASUS’s flagship X399 series motherboard. The motherboard has a lot in common with ASUS’s ROG Zenith Extreme, the most high-end X399 motherboard for the Ryzen Threadripper lineup at the time of launch but the Alpha takes the design methodology of the original a notch ahead.

MSI X470 GAMING PRO

The MSI X470 GAMING Pro is part of MSI’s performance gaming line which is underneath “Enthusiast” and above its “Arsenal” gaming line. Like I said, this doesn’t really make much sense without looking into the hierarchy of MSI’s product stack via its website.

ASRock X399 Phantom Gaming 6

ASRock does an excellent job of tweaking its design to shave money off its budget-priced X399 board, delivering an adequately equipped and modestly performing motherboard. Though not quite on-par with typical X399 offerings, this interpretation of the chipset may force others to lower the cost of entry into AMD’s HEDT space.
