MSI MEG X399 Creation

Speaking of cooling, keeping all these phases happy under heavy load are some of the beefiest heatsinks we’ve seen, with the pair surrounding the CPU socket connected via a heatpipe. They weigh plenty and are securely screwed in, but we actually prefer the stacked-fin cooling employed by, say, Gigabyte because it increases usable surface area over the flat, single-block heatsinks here.

MSI B450M MORTAR

There aren’t too many options when it comes to smaller form factors and AMD boards at the moment, and they’ve been especially slow to trickle out for the newer X470 and B450 chipsets. Thankfully, MSI has added to its micro-ATX Mortar range with the board we’re looking at today, and this particular board, the MSI B450M Mortar, costs under £90 too.

GIGABYTE B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI

While the AORUS board measures only 170mm x 170mm, the 2700X can still be equipped, giving any small form-factor system a healthy number of cores for processing work of any kind, providing you can cool the chip sufficiently, obviously. Not only are you capable of running massive CPUs, we also get four SATA connections, an M.2 slot with a sizeable heatsink and twin-antenna WiFi.

GIGABYTE MZ31-AR0

The Gigabyte MZ31-AR0 was one of the first single socket AMD EPYC motherboards in the STH lab. STH’s DemoEval lab now has well over 600 cores of AMD EPYC running at a given time. There is also a good chance that some of the pages you see now are being served by an AMD EPYC CPU in our other data center.

GIGABYTE GA-AB350N-GAMING WIFI

With its AB350N-Gaming WiFi motherboard, Gigabyte goes small and lets you pack your gaming-quality hardware into a Mini-ITX PC chassis. That’s not overly novel, except for the fact that this board uses the budget-minded AMD B350 chipset, bringing less-often-seen support for AMD AM4 CPUs and APUs to small, single-video-card gaming PCs.

MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC

This is the first of Ryzen compatible B450 motherboards that we will be checking out as the B450 chipset was just recently announced by AMD a couple of weeks ago. One of the great things that AMD has to offer is that their current line up of Ryzen processors, both 1st and 2nd generation, are…

ASRock B450M Pro4

With the ASRock B450M Pro4 we test an inexpensive Micro ATX motherboard for the new AMD Ryzen 2000 CPU series. We have tested and overclocked this AMD AM4 uATX motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 5 2400G processor with integrated GPU and with an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU. Since the ASRock B450M Pro4 is backwards compatible to the first AMD Ryzen 1000 CPU series, we have also tested it with the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X CPU in comparison to the AMD X370 and B350.

GIGABYTE B450 AORUS M

For this review, we’ll be taking a closer look at the first B450 chipset motherboard in our lab, the Gigabyte B450 AORUS M. Some of the notable mention of the motherboard includes the support for both AMD 1st and 2nd Gen Ryzen CPUs, as well as the Ryzen APU with Vega graphics, DDR4 memory support for up to 3200MHz and of course, not restricting the end-users from overclocking both the CPU and memory on a mid-end motherboard.
