ASRock Z490 Taichi

In our first Intel Z490 motherboard review, the ASRock Z490 Taichi takes center stage. With its recognizable Taichi clockwork inspired design, a 12+2 power delivery, three PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 slots, and a Realtek 2.5 gigabit Ethernet port on the rear panel, it looks to leave its stamp on the Z490 market. The Taichi remains one of ASRock’s perennial premium mid-range models.

ASRock Z490 PG Velocita

Although Intel’s latest Z490 chipset didn’t bring many new features per say, ASRock took care of that and introduced a couple of interesting solutions that make our experience richer. ASRock TRX40 Taichi

Featuring support for no fewer than six M.2 Key-M solid-state drives and a deluxe thermal solution, the TRX40 Taichi looks promising if not for gamers (third-generation Threadripper is a mighty overkill platform for that use alone) then for pro content creators and serious storage-speed mavens. But I found that its minor creature-comfort flaws for builders, while relatively few, knock it down a bit, in light of the lofty price.
