The cheapest ASUS board that passed us was the B660-Creator D4 with a price tag of 235 euros. ASUS is known to be a bit more expensive, and we can understand that in part as their bios and software experience is generally just a bit better than the rest. But B660 boards in this segment struggle with mid-range Z690 boards that often go a bit further with features.

Asus’ ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming WIFI hails from the upper mid-range segment of Z690 motherboards. And yes, what constitutes mid-range these days is quite a bit higher than it used to be. Priced at $469.99, the Z690-E Gaming WIFI isn’t cheap, but it’s one of the least expensive Z690 boards with an integrated PCIe 5.0 M.2 socket. But the Z690-E Gaming is more than just the M.2 socket. One of the key features of ASUS motherboards (any series based on the Intel Z690 chipset) is the presence of holes for mounting cooling systems that are compatible not only with LGA1700, but also with LGA1200 / 115x. If you look at the capabilities of the board itself, Pairing with the INTEL CORE i7 12700KF CPU is a fairly suitable match: the price level is 18,590 baht, which is about 10,000 baht more expensive than its predecessor. As for the overclocking capabilities, from a few days of trying and using at 5.0 GHz, I consider it stable, which is not sure how quickly the new bios can be pushed upwards.
