The ASRock Fatal1ty X399 Professional Gaming motherboard (priced around $390) performs just as well as the company’s X399 Taichi, but has the added benefit of the 10Gb network controller. This board has some deficiencies from a gamer’s perspective, but would work well for a system that calls for 10Gb throughput and utilization of all the PCIe slots (something most boards can’t handle).

The ASRock X399 Professional Gaming is a motherboard that has been designed to entice advanced gamers. Even the nickname of the former well-known former esports player, Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel, appears along with the motherboard’s name to help with the marketing of the motherboard.

ASRock’s X399 Taichi was the first X399 motherboard we took a look at, and it not only performed well, but it was also loaded with quality components. ASRock’s take on the X399 platform is interesting, to say the least. They are using high-quality parts, implementing solid platform features, but not adding in too many aesthetic features.
