The X570 AORUS WiFi is a good looking board all around. With minor RGB accents by the PCIe slots and on the heat sink the overall monochromatic look makes for a sleek and tight look that is very appealing to look at.

The obvious aesthetic tweaks, though, are the addition of an I/O shroud and one M.2 heatsink – welcome if you’re not too enamoured of the hefty copper heatsink on SSDs such as the Aorus PCIe 4.0 sample we use for testing. However, with this sandwiched between the GPU and CPU socket, the stock configuration saw an M.2 temperature of over 70°C, which is worse than using the included heatsink with our SSD.

Gigabyte wants buyers to know that its power is fed through fourteen chokes by 50A Infineon IR3556 MOSFETs from a 16-channel Infineon XDPE132G5C controller in a 12 (core) +2 (SOC) configuration. Those MOSFETs are cooled by a traditional stacked-fin heat pipe arrangement that’s been fitted with a plastic shroud to give it a more-modern appearance.

There are big and little things of note when it comes to motherboard design and use, and the biggest is of course functionality. While these AORUS boards have been used exclusively for benchmarking they are gaming models (if only there was time for gaming) meant for both high performance and greater durability – which is a great combo for a test bench scenario, too.
