GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS XTREME – TweakTown

In testing, the AORUS and Hero were consistently at the top of our charts, with the Xtreme taking more of the CPU-designed testing like PCMark and CrossMark, where the Hero was a bit better in 3DMark. In real-world gaming, both of these boards performed identically. Storage performance was a bit lower, 10 MB/s for the Xtreme vs. the Hero, but USB 3.2, SATA, and the like were all on point.

GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS PRO – GAME IT

To cool this power system we find a huge heatsink that has twice the dissipation surface of its predecessors, heatsinks that conform to the design of the MOSFET to increase the thermal efficiency of the heatsink and improve airflow and heat exchange. This increase in thermal performance is due to the main heatsink has been manufactured in one piece and implements several air inlets that improve the cooling of the assembly and greater efficiency in the dissipation of the heat produced by the board power system. To top all this off, is also implemented.

GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS XTREME – OC3D

The peak of the Gigabyte range is their Aorus Xtreme. A motherboard which causes our fingers no end of grief as we automatically type extreme. It does smack of the Monster energy world, but hey perhaps we’re just out of the loop of what counts as “hey fellow kids”. However, the important thing is what lays behind the name, and Gigabyte have thrown the kitchen sink at the Aorus Xtreme, from lighting to PCB design and connection format. We’ll let you peruse the specifications and show you the motherboard in our usual high detail on the next few pages.
