ASUS TUF GAMING B660M-PLUS WIFI D4 – PC Inquisitor

This is not your father’s Asus front-panel connector: While similar in shape to the one used on older boards, its divided into a now-standard Intel-style 9-pin group on the left, and a legacy PC Speaker /Chassis Intrusion / 3-pin Power LED group on the right. Above and to the left of this front-panel group are four SATA ports, two that point outward from the bottom edge and two that point forward from the front edge.

ASUS ROG STRIX B660-A GAMING WIFI D4 – iXBT

Asus ROG Strix B660-A Gaming WiFi D4 is aimed at those who do not need the most powerful “hardware”, but for whom standard modern support for peripherals is important. From the use of the B660 chipset, it is clear that the board is more designed for mid-range processors. However, it works perfectly even with top-end Intel Core processors of the 12th generation. It has 15 USB ports, including 2 USB 3.2 Gen2 and one USB 3.2 Gen2×2, plus 5 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports. The board has two “long” slots – PCIe x16 and PCIe x4 – as well as two PCIe x1, 3 M.2 slots, 4 SATA ports and 6 fan connectors.

ASUS PRIME B660M-K D4 – Overclockers Russia

This time the release of the new platform was much better prepared, but the global situation will still affect the supply and assortment. We have already seen the most budget board based on the Intel H610 chipset, on the Z690 too, but on the B660 it was only for the corporate segment. One could already imagine what we would expect for normal home use, and I thought that there would be no difference. It will be a heatsinkless model, reminiscent of the inexpensive H610 board, and with the functionality of the B660 board I was looking at.

MSI Z690 & B660 Roundup – Tech Testers

Although we started working with the DDR5 version ourselves, it appears that it is hardly for sale in the Netherlands, while the DDR4 variant is readily available, normally for just under 200 euros. Exactly the same board in every way, but with DDR4 memory support which just makes more sense at the moment. Now 200 euros still seems like quite a lot of money for a motherboard if you haven’t built a new PC for a while, but in 2022 that is about the starting point for a decent middle-class board.

ASUS Z690 & B660 Roundup – Tech Testers

The cheapest ASUS board that passed us was the B660-Creator D4 with a price tag of 235 euros. ASUS is known to be a bit more expensive, and we can understand that in part as their bios and software experience is generally just a bit better than the rest. But B660 boards in this segment struggle with mid-range Z690 boards that often go a bit further with features.

GIGABYTE B660 AORUS MASTER DDR4 – HardwareCooking

The motherboard arrives in a box in a dominant black, here no visual of the motherboard, only the Aorus logo, which is a falcon. We have blue and orange colors, the historic color of the brand. The only technical mentions are the presence of DDR4, support for the 12th generation and the presence of the B660 chipset.

ASUS ROG STRIX B660-F GAMING WIFI – HardwareCooking

This motherboard is intended for use with 12th generation Intel Alder Lake-S processors. Indeed, we are here on a new LGA 1700 socket and only this generation of motherboard (600 series chipset) is compatible. Thus, we can for example place an i9-12900K , i7-12700K or even the i5-12600K on it to quote the references with unlocked coefficient, but this motherboard will be more suitable for non-K CPUs like the i5-12400 or why not the i9-12900. Although the B660 chipset does not allow CPU overclocking, memory OC is still possible.

ASUS ProArt B660-CREATOR D4 – Guru3D

The B660 board is equipped with an LGA 1700 socket and can support the entire line of Intel’s Alder Lake Desktop CPUs. It can house the unlocked lineup all the way up to the Core i9-12900K; however, a preferable option will be to outfit this board with the non-K series processors that launched alongside the B660 series. The ASUS ProArt B660-Creator D4 features an 8-pin + 4-pin connector for powering the CPU socket and is powered by a 12+1 phase digital power supply solution (CPU-only) comprising of 50A SIC654phases paired with a PWM-Controller: ASP2100 / RT3628AE. The motherboard features dark heatsinks above the power supply, providing adequate cooling for the electrical components beneath.

ASUS ROG STRIX B660-A GAMING WIFI D4 – OC3D

Although the Strix B660-A is available with the DDR5 option, we’re looking at the more affordable setup here. The price of DDR4 is significantly lower than its newer cousin, and when coupled to our Intel Core i5-12400 should give you all the performance you require for a good gaming setup that doesn’t bust the bank. You still get all the high bandwidth elements with plenty of USB ports and PCI Express 5.0, just without the outlay.
