SuperO is bringing us many new products in last months. This time it’s the C9Z390-CG-IW so the motherboard based on the Z390 chipset in ITX format. Even though it’s small, it’s quite powerful what we can see looking at the specification (on the next page of this review). Times, when small motherboards were limited, are over and SuperO proves that once again.

Well from looking at the initial boards announced for the Z390, one of the most exciting ITX boards was the Strix Z390-I Gaming from Asus and I was excited to see it come in. I’m curious what is different from the Z370 or the Z270 for the matter and to dive into Asus’s feature set and see if the Strix Z390-I Gaming covers all of the bases for a high-end gaming PC that will take up less space on your desk and be easy to pack up and take to events to play with your friends.

The Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ac is a motherboard in ITX format. Every generation we can see that ASRock is offering more on a smaller space. It may surprise us how much can fit onto 17x17cm square of PCB. I won’t tell you much more right now.

Supporting enough current to supply the Core i7-9700K, we can only recommend buyers consider the C9Z390-CG-IW if they don’t plan on pairing it with the i9-9900K. While custom settings on the board allowed the i9-9900K to operate very well and even reach a 5 percent overclock, stock settings resulted in underclocking or power resets during extremely heavy software loads.
