MSI X299M GAMING PRO CARBON AC

With the disappointing absence of Asus in the HEDT micro-ATX arena since it canned its Rampage Gene a while back, we’ve had to rely on other manufacturers, and thankfully all have come up trumps over the last few years. Here we’re looking at MSI’s effort at a micro-ATX X299 board, and the X299M Gaming Pro Carbon AC – to give it its full name – seems to be right on the money too.

EVGA X299 Micro

In this review I’ll be looking at the EVGA X299 Micro.  This is a MicroATX motherboard based on the Intel X299 chipset and designed for the new LGA 2066 Core-X processor platform.  If you couldn’t tell this is the replacement chipset for the previous X99 and promises to deliver more power for your high-end desktop needs.

Given the performance X299 is capable of, I’m excited to see if this board could be a good mATX build option to pack a lot of performance in a smaller package. EVGA typically keeps things simple with a blacked out look and little to no lighting for those who just want a clean good performing board. Let’s find out if that is the case again.

One of the major selling points for the MORTAR would be its mATX size, which would appeal to many that either prefer a smaller system, or its use for HTPC duties. MSI B350 TOMAHAWK ARCTIC & B350M MORTAR

Whilst we all like good performance for a low entry price, we also like a chance to stretch our creative abilities when it comes to building the system, and that is where the Arctic versions of the Tomahawk come in. GIGABYTE GA-AB350M-GAMING 3

Moving on to our second AMD AM4 Ryzen motherboard review we have a Gigabyte AB350M-Gaming 3 motherboard in the Lab. The AB350M-Gaming 3 has a small Micro ATX Form Factor; 24.4cm x 24.4cm, yet packs some serious punch. This board only supports one Nvidia GPU but can handle AMD Radeon Crossfire setups.
