We have previously told you about the hugely expensive MSI MEG Z690 Godlike and now the time has come for a full review. The hardware includes 22 VRM phases that are each rated at 105A and you get all sorts of goodies such as Thunderbolt 4 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. On the other hand we have a UK price of £1,850 that takes our breath away in a rather painful manner. We suggest you strap in as the ride promises to be rather rocky.

MSI MEG Z690 GODLIKE – Overclockers Russia

The printed circuit board is black, the surface is matte, but it is almost invisible from the front because everything is closed. There are some small cracks, but you can’t see much through them. The whole structure is very rigid and heavy because a lot of metal is used. It is clear that it has several heatsinks, but it is not light in itself because thick layers of copper are used in its production.

It features all of the most recent specifications that a motherboard can have and a whole host of additions that have you questioning if you’re even buying this for the motherboard and not the extras. The extras in question are threefold; the new and possibly revolutionary M-vision dashboard that can be used for quick motherboard setting changes even whilst in windows and can be used as quick access to launch default programs on your PC like web browsers and the calculator, I do question this though, how much faster can it really be than clicking on the icon with your mouse?

MSI MEG Z690 GODLIKE – A Removable 3.5″ Touch-Panel?

The MSI MEG Z690 GODLIKE is truly a fascinating flagship motherboard, it’s not only the largest of all flagship Z690 boards that have been released so far but also aims to be the most feature-rich. MSI is incorporating a whole touch panel on the motherboard which will measure 3.5″. This is the same display size as the original iPhone. Furthermore, the panel will be entirely removable as it is connected through a USB Type-C interface and not a proprietary connector.

ASUS’s ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme measures 305×277 mm while the Z690 AORUS Xtreme measures 305×285 mm. The MEG Z690 GODLIKE will measure an insane 305x310mm, almost a perfect square.

In terms of aesthetics, the MSI MEG Z690 GODLIKE motherboard features a vast array of RGB LEDs running over the M.2 slots, the I/O panel, and the PCH heatsink. There’s also a huge 3.5″ Touch LCD panel right next to the DDR5 DIMM slots making it as large as the first iPhone. The LCD panel will display useful metrics such as core clocks, temperatures, voltage readings and can be further customized through MSI’s Dragon app.
