Performance on the Z690 Tomahawk ended up average overall among the other boards we tested. While all tests were very close in either direction, the Procyon tests showed the most significant departure from average, matching the slower DDR4 boards more closely than their DDR5 counterparts. MSI Rolling Out AMD AGESA 1.2.0.5 Beta BIOS’ for B550, X570

It’s been a while since we got a new firmware update on the AMD 500-series platform. The last one, the AGESA 1.2.0.4, and its respective patches were launched back in September and with new Ryzen CPU families coming to the platform real soon, a new BETA BIOS was inbound for launch.

According to MSI, the major changes that the new AMD AGESA  1.2.0.5 BIOS firmware adds is first of all the update to the new firmware which also updates the SMU firmware for AMD’s Ryzen CPUs including Vermeer (Ryzen 5000), Cezanne (Ryzen 5000G), Picasso (Ryzen 3000G) and Raven Ridge (Ryzen 2000G).

MSI MAG B660M MORTAR Pictured

MSI did give us a small teaser of its B660M Mortar motherboard last week but now we get to see the full upfront view of the motherboard. The B660M Mortar features the LGA 1700 socket & will support the entire range of Intel’s Alder Lake Desktop CPUs. It can house the unlocked lineup all the way up to the Core i9-12900K but the more preferable choice will be to equip this board with the non-K series the launches alongside the B660 series.

The MSI MEG Z690 GODLIKE is truly a fascinating flagship motherboard, it’s not only the largest of all flagship Z690 boards that have been released so far but also aims to be the most feature-rich.
