MSI MEG B550 UNIFY – TweakTown

For specifications, the Unify is set up quite well with a 14+2 power design, MSI using Infineon stages this time around each able to handle 90A output current, plenty for the latest Zen 3 series. Of course, AM4 is the socket, and B550 is our chipset, so we have support for DDR4; 2133MHz JEDEC through 5100MHz via DOCP. Max memory is rated at 128GB across four slots.

MSI Announces MAG X570S Series Motherboards

[Taipei, Taiwan] At the beginning of June, MSI presented the brand-new X570S Series motherboards during MSI‘s online product launch event. The unique designs and remarkable features sparked widespread discussions. Here are more in-depth concrete details regarding the MSI MAG X570S Series.

In 2019, AMD’s X570 platform came out and became the first chipset that supports PCIe 4.0 solution. Even now, MSI X570 Series motherboards are undoubtedly a great lineup with high specifications and aggressive designs. However, MSI can’t just stop there. Our mission is to deliver the best computing experience for every gamer and creator. The new X570S Series motherboards achieved exactly that.

MSI is dedicated to product optimization so the new motherboards are made with prominent features. The MAG X570S Series is at the forefront of this launch. Inspired by military design, the MAG X570S TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI and MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX share identical looks. More excitingly, the MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX now comes in the Pacific Blue colorway, which is all the rage for our fans. Apart from the attractive designs, the imperative modification is the fanless chipset heatsink. We removed the fan to reduce dust and noise, while the ranges of the heatsink are expanded. Also, both MAG X570S TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI and MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX have M.2 Shield Frozr. The former has an All Aluminum Design while the latter has an Extended Heatsink Design. Therefore, the new MSI X570S Series motherboards enhance heat dissipation efficiency instead of sacrificing the heat dissipation performance.

In terms of the specifications, both MAG X570S Series motherboards feature 12 Duet Rail Power System with digital PWM IC to unleash the potential power of the processors. With 2 PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, both motherboards support multi-GPU CrossFire Technology. The MAG X570S Series motherboards are equipped with 2.5G LAN while the MAG X570S TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI supports the latest network solution Wi-Fi 6E for high-speed transmission. For the audio, the MAG X570S Series is upgraded to Audio Boost 5, which provides a high-tier audio experience.

Take it easy. MSI will launch new MPG and MEG Series motherboards as well and disclose the latest information on our channel. So stay tuned.

MSI MEG B550 UNIFY – eTeknix

Looking to be the top B550 board out there, the MEG B550 UNIFY has quite a bit going for it. From four M.2 slot,s three of which are Gen 4 (Take notes Intel) to WiFi 6 and more, the MEG B550 UNIFY looks like one hell of a board on paper! The all-black aesthetic is going to allow it to fit in nicely with almost any build and really give users full control over how they want things to look. Is RGB slowly dying off? I highly doubt it, but it is nice to see an option without it, Kudos MSI!

MSI MAG B560 TOMAHAWK WIFI – itndaily

What else do you need to know about the MSI MAG B560 Tomahawk WIFI? The device has a serious power subsystem (12 + 2 + 1) and two whole connectors (8 + 4-pin) for feeding the CPU. In our opinion, this is too much, because it is not possible to overclock any processor using this modification (this option is not supported by the chipset).

The MSI MAG B560 Tomahawk WIFI does not have hot buttons for turning on and restarting the PC, as well as the POST indicator. But on the other hand, the board has LEDs (CPU, DRAM, VGA and Boot), which help to identify a problem at the start, if any.

MSI MAG Z590 TORPEDO – HardwareBBQ

The MSI MAG Z590 TORPEDO is made for the LGA 1200 Intel Core i5/ Core i7/ and Core i9 11th generation Rocket Lake-S processors, depending on the pricing against the currently dominating AMD Ryzen platform. Motherboard combos play a vital role in decision making with the CPUs. This is not an exception. While you do not get the WiFi option in this, you do get PCIe 4.0 lane support with the 11th gen CPU, Type A on the rear and front- and a decent amount of USB ports.

MSI X570S TOMAHAWK MAX & X570S TORPEDO MAX Pictured

Starting off with the MSI X570S Tomahawk Max, we are looking at a slightly refreshed design scheme with the major change being the passive cooled X570 PCH. The motherboard still carries the same number of I/O and heatsinks but one thing that might have seen another slight update is the CPU power delivery. We don’t have exact information at the moment but it does look like it has been modified just a slight bit to provide better-overclocking support on AMD’s Ryzen 5000 Desktop line of processors.

MSI MEG Z590 ACE – AnandTech

When we overclocked the MSI MEG Z590 Ace with our i9-11900K, we observed relatively tight Vdroop control at lower frequencies and CPU VCore voltages below 5 GHz, although this changed as we above 5 GHz with some very aggressive Vdroop. We managed to get to 5.2 GHz all-cores 100% stable, with no thermal throttling and an incredible and equally terrifying power draw of 485 W at full-load. We saw an increase in POV-Ray performance as we tested each frequency. MSI’s auto-overclock Game Boost presets in the firmware actually performed worse than the default settings, with more CPU VCore, and much higher core temperatures and power draw.

MSI MEG B550 UNIFY – Hardware-Inside

With the MSI MEG B550 UNIFY, a special piece of hardware has fluttered into the editorial office. Because mainboards with B-chipset were more cheaper mainstream, it is completely different with this mainboard. In addition to the 14 + 2-phase power supply with 90 A voltage converters with powerful heat sinks, there are also four M.2 slots on the board. When it comes to the design, MSI was rather restrained, because the circuit board and heat sink are kept in black. In the following we take a closer look at the mainboard, for which the manufacturer provided us with a test sample.

MSI MEG Z590 ACE – PC Magazine

On the visual side of the PCB, the MEG Z590 Ace is a bit of a mixed bag. Like its predecessor, the Z590 Ace is predominantly black with shades of gray mixed in. The gray is so dark as to look black in most PC-case environs, whereas the MEG Z490 Ace’s lighter shades of gray showed more contrast with the black parts of that motherboard.

MSI compensates for this more somber tone by adding more RGB LEDs and by moving its signature dragon logo from the chipset heatsink to the rear I/O shroud. Overall, I think the lighting is a step up, but I wish the designers had kept the more noticeable mixture of gray shades on the heatsinks.
