At the very least you can see that the Crosshair VII Hero comes with all the bells and whistles that one would hope to find on a premium ROG motherboard. Certainly if you want to start your 2nd Generation Ryzen journey off on the best foot this is a great platform from which to do so.

Largely the X470 seems to be a slightly revised version of the X370 chipset. As we saw on the ASUS Crosshair the Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 follows a similar path of being very similar to a the X370 – barely a year old – with a few additional features to keep it cresting the wave of the leading edge of technology.

The Gaming 7 Wifi is one of three new Aorus X470 boards with others being Gaming 5 Wifi and Ultra Gaming. The 7 stands alone in terms of electrical specification as it has a 10+2-phase digital CPU power supply while the cheaper pair make do with 8+3.

The most notable difference between both the new Biostar X470GTN and the old is a metallic slot protection coating on the full-length PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.
