Gigabyte’s brand Aorus has been releasing a new series of motherboards for Ryzen 3000, we check out the X570 Aorus master with a Ryzen 7 3700X processor, AMD prepped the X570 chipset, that offers a more fine-tuned experience for your Ryzen Generation 3 processor. The Aorus master offers PCIe Gen 4.0 and AX Wifi.

The X570 Aorus Master is based on the new X570 chipset and thus its feature set. This socket AM4 motherboard offers extensive DDR4 memory support (as well as all other modern usual suspects like USB 3.2 gen 2, NVMe protocol 1.3 based M.2 support over PCI-Express Gen 4.0 and of course generic PCI-Express Gen 4.0 mechanical slots.

The X570 AORUS WiFi is a good looking board all around. With minor RGB accents by the PCIe slots and on the heat sink the overall monochromatic look makes for a sleek and tight look that is very appealing to look at.

The obvious aesthetic tweaks, though, are the addition of an I/O shroud and one M.2 heatsink – welcome if you’re not too enamoured of the hefty copper heatsink on SSDs such as the Aorus PCIe 4.0 sample we use for testing. However, with this sandwiched between the GPU and CPU socket, the stock configuration saw an M.2 temperature of over 70°C, which is worse than using the included heatsink with our SSD.

As we’ve come to expect with AMD platform launches, plenty of updates coming in fast. Each successive update bringing stability and compatibility improvements. This latest entry in the ASRock X570 Taichi is easily my favorite X570 motherboard thus far.

Today I want to check out the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero WiFi that has been pulling double duty as our CPU test platform and our GPU test platform. The Hero isn’t Asus’s highest-end X570 board, but it is close so I’m excited to see what they have packed into it.
