Today we are looking at the ASRock Rack X570D4I-2T. This board is somewhat of an X570-based successor to the X470D4U and X470D4U2-2T that we previously covered, though the shift to a mini-ITX form factor throws a curveball into that comparison. Similar to the X470 boards before it, ASRock Rack is making a case for Ryzen as a server processor, boasting higher core counts than Intel’s low-end Xeon chips and the unofficial ECC memory support baked into the desktop Ryzen processors.

With an 8 layer PCB covered in double thickness copper and a worlds first 16 phase power – without the use of doublers – the Aorus Xtreme definitely lives up to its name.

With only two M.2 slots but eight I/O-panel USB3 Gen2 and eight SATA ports, the Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming is more of a power-user board than a gamer. But compared to competing models, its lower price and robust feature set makes it easy to recommend among early X570 offerings.

The exterior package is striking and aesthetically pleasing. However, the way this board is packed inside the box isn’t like anything I’ve seen. It’s been a very long time since I reviewed an ASRock motherboard, so perhaps this is more normal for this brand. It isn’t for any others I’ve seen.

We’ve had the chance to review and analyze quite a few X570 boards to date, but one of the standout models boards that piqued our interest during testing was the GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Xtreme, which is the only X570 board to include a passively cooled chipset heatsink.

Key beneficiaries from the uptick in CPU performance are Mini-ITX and Small Form Factor (SFF) aficionados who can now squeeze a new level of compute performance into their mini PCs. The ASUS PRIME X570 Pro is part of ASUS’s PRIME series which is aimed more at content creators than gamers. At its current price point is really a mid-range motherboard. At the time of this writing costs around $250 from most retailers.

This is where the MSI X570 Tomahawk comes in and at $200 it’s going head to head with popular X570 mainstream boards such as the Asus TUF Gaming Plus, Gigabyte Aorus Elite and Asrock Steel Legend. Moreover, it will be replacing the horrible Gaming Edge WiFi, a board we really hope MSI discontinues, along with a few others including the X570 Pro Carbon.

Today, we are looking at GIGABYTE’s X570 Gaming X motherboard. This is quite literally, the second-lowest priced GIGABYTE X570 motherboard we could find. There is one that’s about $10 lower which lacks RGB LED lighting, but I like shiny, blinky lights so here we are.
